Hi, This is Anna's Mom. She is 6 years old now and in 1st grade. A lot has been happening since we updated the blog and since she is busy in school I thought I would catch everyone up.

It has been a rough year in many ways but she has managed to have fun too. In January we lost Anna's Pop! She thought he hung the moon and the stars just for her and I am pretty sure that he is up there making sure they shine extra bright for her now. This summer Anna lost both of her Great Grandmothers (both of my Grandmothers) but she did have a chance to spend lots of time with family that we really hadn't been around to much lately. She discovered the joy of cousins and great aunts that will spoil her! Being in the country for a large part of the summer Anna discovered how fun it can be to turn black from dirt, how cool it is to ride in the back of a mule to go visit cows and how precious puppies are before they even open their eyes! She fell in love with one of those puppies and we brought him home with us when he was old enough. His name is Scooby!!! Or if you want his full name it is: Scooby Dooby Doo Where Are You! And I can assure you that he hears his full name ALL the time! The little guy likes to hide and go places he probably shouldn't.
Anna is loving first grade! She thinks it is WAY better than kindergarten. She loves the work and the teacher and has a few "BFF's" in her class. I can't tell you how much better I feel not having to practically drag her to school by her hair. She gets up happy (most days) excited to go to school. We should get progress reports soon so we will see how she is really doing but she seems to be doing well.

Scooby wanted to go to school with her but you know they have a rule NO DOGS ALLOWED! I guess they think dogs would be a disruption. Oh well, I am just thrilled that she is happy!

This is our cousin Ella! She is cute, huh. She is only about 6 months older than Anna. Her Mom, Alle, is becoming a children's clothes fashion designer. She made the dress Ella is wearing. I know it is adorable, right? She is making Anna 3 outfits and I can't wait to get them.

I wish I had gotten more pictures of Anna with her cousins but honestly it was a rough summer for me. I am hoping that some others in the family got pictures so that I can add them later. Ya'll email me if you have any!!! PLEASE!

Oh goodness, I almost forgot Anna's favorite part of the Summer!!! Her birthday party at Monkey Joe's. She had 6 friends at her party and they had a blast! I don't think she could have had any more fun even though the party was thrown together so fast my head was spinning! I guess that is one of the advantages to having the party somewhere besides home.
Cute things Anna has been saying:

A while ago when someone like me would sneeze really loud Anna said "Wow that was a really loud bless you!" or if she would have a sneeze she would say "I have a bless you stuck and it won't come out!" I guess since I say bless you when she sneezes she just started thinking of them as bless you's.

She really wants a cat and she talks about it a lot. Her Dad isn't a cat person so a cat is out of the question. Early this summer we were walking through wal-mart. She said "Mom when I get big I am going to get a cat and you can come visit my cat whenever you want." I said "That is very sweet I would love to visit your cat!" She said "You might have to travel though cause I might move a long way away." I said "What, you are going to move away from Mommy?" She said "you never know where God is going to want me to go Mom!"

Anna is an incredible kid. She is funny, sweet, compassionate, thoughtful and smart. I am blessed to call her my daughter!!!

I started kindergarten today!!! I don't like the uniforms!!! They aren't nearly as comfy as my normal clothes. I went in without to much fuss! I will have to tell you exactly how my day went after I get home but for now I thought I would post some pictures from this summer.

I had a great time camping with Grandma and Grandpa. We went fishing, rode on the boat, walked the dogs, rode my bike, played barbies with Grandma, went bowling on the wii and even went out on a floating dock. I can't wait to do it again!!!

Dolphin Tour

Yia Yia and Aunt Casey came and spent the week with us when they had some time off. Mommy let me stay home from school one day and we went on a dolphin tour. It was so much fun. We got to see at least a dozen dolphins swimming around. I wanted to touch them but no one would let me.

We invited the parents to a picnic and a show. We had made musical instruments and we played a few songs and we even did a marching band like in a parade. It was a lot of fun!

They moved to a very cool farm house with lots of land to explore. We went on a hike that was over the river and through the woods and don't forget up the mountain lol. I loved it! Ms. Lisa and I lead the way. We explored the barn that they have. They don't have horses yet but maybe by the next time we go! We dyed Easter Eggs and we did an egg hunt. We played cards and we had a movie night. They have their very own projector! Pastor Chip even ordered up a wild storm! That was a little scary but it was funny at times!

This tree has given me 3 good years of climbing! I learned how to climb on it and how to swing from the branches. I played with friends in it. I watched the birds in it. In one of its branches some bird made a hole and now he lives in it!!! My Daddy says we probably need to cut it down but I worry that some other kid want have the joy of climbing and learning and growing in it like I did!

For New Years Eve we spent the night with friends. After getting all dolled up we went to Ms. Necie's house and played cards and ate and played outside. We even had a bond fire. It was so much fun. We always laugh a lot when we go over there and we always have fun.

Christmas

Christmas was magical for me this year. I loved everything about it! One of my favorite parts was the introduction of my very own elf. I named him Twinkle. He would come to my house every morning and leave during the night to report back to Santa how I was doing. He would then reappear in a different place the next morning. I loved to look for him every morning. He stayed until Christmas Eve night and then he went back to the North Pole but not without leaving me a special stocking filled with goodies.

Santa was very good to me even though I wouldn't go see him this year. He left me a pink and purple Princess Jeep. I love riding all over the yard in it! It even plays music!!! He also left me a Princess table and a Cinderella doll! Can you tell I am all about the Princess!!! I had my whole family here for Christmas day, Yia Yia and Pop, Aunt Casey and Grandma and Grandpa too. It was great fun! We had lunch and played with all of my toys. I got to many to list but lets just say I had a great Christmas!!!

I do also know that Jesus is the Reason for the Season! I love talking about baby Jesus. I like to carry around the baby Jesus out of my nativity. I treated Him as if he were my baby. We did a birthday cake for Jesus and sang him Happy Birthday!

As you can see from the pictures we had a great time! I loved being spoiled by everyone and spending time with them all. My favorite part was snuggling up with Ms. Jena and Ms. Hannah. They would snuggle with me whenever I would look at them. I liked watching Daddy play kick ball, roasting marshmallows over the fire and I liked swimming, of course. I didn't like the girls after they had had a shaving cream fight and I didn't like what they did to my Mommy's hair. I had a great time over all and I can't wait to do it again next year. In fact, I tried to talk them all into staying for a few extra days but it didn't work out.

Last night I went on a date with Mommy and Daddy. We went to a Japanese restaurant. I have to say I didn't really like the heat and the noise and fire! I did like the fillet mignon though. Mommy ordered me chicken and her steak. I ate half of her steak and one bite of my chicken. I even used the trainer chop sticks! I thought that was pretty good. I loved the onions they cooked. So my dinner was mostly onions and steak, YUMM!!! My Mommy and Daddy have been married 13 years tomorrow!!! Congratulations to them and thank you because I wouldn't be here without you guys ;)

I made a deal with Mommy. I will wear my wings for a while and then I will take them off. Yesterday I really didn't want to take them off but when I did I loved it. Today my friends were wearing wings so I felt like I needed them. After a while though I realized it is way more fun to go without them. I was jumping and swimming and having a blast without them. Mommy said I looked like a fish or a mermaid. I think mermaids are prettier so I must look like one of them!

So we stayed at the festival for a few hours and then walked down to the Mellow Mushroom for pizza! Walking back we saw these gorgeous wrought iron fences. Mommy had to take a picture for Aunt Casey! Then we went back and claimed a spot for the movie Finding Nemo! I thought it was the coolest thing EVER getting to watch a movie outside!

My Yia Yia is a pretty special lady! I love her so very much or THIS much as we like to say! Yia Yia makes me know that I am special. In fact if it were up to her my feet would never touch the ground and she would give me the moon! Every little girl deserves someone like this in their life! She is my Daddy's Mommy! We do lots of fun stuff together. We go shopping! We go out to eat! We go see ballets! We read books! We color together! We play in her garden! We ride bikes, well I ride and she watches lol. I love going to church! I look forward to it every week. Not only do I get to dress up but I get to see my friends! Church is more than that though it is a place where I go to find Jesus! He is in our sanctuary and I love to go in there to find him.

We got up early this morning and dyed my Easter Eggs!!! It was so much fun. I made some super pretty ones and even a few that have glitter on them. After finishing that we went up to Sonic to eat lunch. While there I decided I was enjoying the fresh air so much I wanted to go somewhere else. Mommy and Daddy decided we could go to the Bamboo Farm! It was a lot of fun until I stepped in an ant bed! OUCH!!! I didn't let it keep me down though. We stayed for a while after that.
